The McBride Diaries (Vol.1)

Hey cats,

What's happening? Lots going on. At the moment, I'm working on the bass method book. This is going to be a lot of fun to work on, although it'll be a little difficult because I still have to tour, record, teach, etc. If you go to the "gigs" page, you can see all the stuff coming up. Along with the things that are posted, I still have the Dave Brubeck Institute stuff once a month, along with gigs with Roy Haynes' "Birds of a Feather" band, and of course, the CMB.

I have some recording projects coming up with Pat Martino and Sting. As of now, neither project should take up too much time, but both projects promise to be great. I can't wait to hear Sting's new tunes.

As if I haven't put enough on my plate already, I'm also continuing to write a lot for Big Band. Sooner or later, there's going to be a Christian McBride Big Band Tour... (whew! that'll cost a lot of money!)

Random abstract: You know what one my silly goals is? To make enough money so I can buy a bus! My dream is to fly AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE! I can't begin to tell you how much of a ABSOLUTE DRAG it is flying these days. The restrictions, the overbookings (therefore, the overcrowding), the rude service, the horrid food, etc. And of course, because of my instrument, the excess baggage charges! I'm STILL trying to make my money back from that European tour the CMB did back in May. All in all, I spent almost $3,000 just getting my BAGS ON THE PLANE!! Isn't that ridiculous??

More Random abstract: Aren't you sick of the Atlanta Braves?!?!? As a matter of fact, aren't you sick of baseball altogether? I can't believe they're talking about a strike yet again. Oh well, the NFL's about to start soon, anyway. GO EAGLES!

more random abstract coming soon.......
